Hi Everyone! Welcome to Savvy Savvings! My name is Savannah and I have a passion for saving money, travel, and helping others!
I have a real problem with our school curriculums because they don’t teach you anything about the practical knowledge needed once you are out of school.
I remember learning how to sew and clean dishes (that’s helpful!) but I was never taught how to make a budget, how to pay bills, how credit cards work, the list goes on and on.
That’s where Savvy Savvings comes in! I created this site with the hopes of helping YOU navigate the difficult and confusing road to financial wellbeing.
I am sharing everything I have learned over the years, everything you should have learned in school, and presenting it in an easy-to-understand way so that you can take action to hopefully improve your own finances.
My Background with My Own Personal Finances
I grew up in a family where my dad seemed like he was the cheapest person in the world and my mom spent money as if it grew on a tree in our backyard. Between the two, I was very confused when it came to finances for a long time.
My confusion continued well past graduating from college. I talk about my struggle with student loans in more detail in this post.
It wasn’t until a few years after graduating I started reading about all things finance. I think what actually started my interest in personal finance was moving to California and the need to fly back and forth to Florida as often as I wanted, so I started looking into travel rewards.
Looking into travel rewards led me to look into saving money, budgeting, other credit card rewards, and finances in general, and has snowballed into an obsession! Now I am working towards financial freedom and hopefully retiring early one day!
